Geochemical Journal calls for papers in special issue “Cosmochemistry of extraterrestrial materials from atomic scale to the Solar System”. This special issue focuses on recent advances in the study of extraterrestrial materials such as spacecraft-returned samples, meteorites, and interplanetary dust particles. In recent years, Hayabusa2 and OSIRIS-REx returned samples from carbonaceous asteroids Ryugu and Bennu, and Chang’e 5 brought lunar samples back to Earth. Detailed chemical analysis of these returned samples and extraterrestrial samples has opened up new opportunities for understanding the Solar System and its celestial bodies. This special issue welcomes contributions discussing and interpreting the analytical results of extraterrestrial samples and related topics in cosmo- and astrochemistry.
