[New!] Call for Papers: Geochemical Journal Special Issue on Advances in Environmental Geochemistry

Geochemical Journal invites submissions to a special issue, “Advances in Environmental Geochemistry.” This issue is being organized as a collaborative activity among the Geochemical Society of Japan (GSJ) and our partner societies in East Asia: the Geological Society of Korea (GSK), the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry (CSMPG), and the Geological Society Located in Taipei (GST), based on our MOUs with the three societies.

Guest Editors: Yoshio Takahashi (GSJ), Haibo Qin (CSMPG), Seonyi Namgung (GSK), Kuo-Lung Wang (GST), and Shohei Hattori (GSJ)

We welcome contributions from researchers worldwide on all aspects of environmental geochemistry. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • The behavior and fate of toxic elements, radionuclides, and other contaminants in the environment;
  • Geochemical approaches to climate change and related environmental processes;
  • Applications of isotope geochemistry to environmental research;
  • Speciation studies on elements and organic matter to understand chemical processes;
  • Other geochemical studies in Earth’s surface environments, including the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and soils.

We invite original research articles, notes, and reviews. All submissions will undergo the journal’s usual peer review process. Accepted papers may be published online individually before the complete special issue is assembled.

Submission deadline: June 30, 2027
