Possible climatic effect of supernova explosions

ABSTRACT
Gamma-rays from relatively distant supernova explosions may cause an increase of the NO inventory in the atmosphere, which in turn may lead to a reduction of O3 and a world-wide change in climate. Such an effect may be detectable in the temperature data obtained by the method of isotopic tree thermometers.- Published : 1977-03-20
