Model organo-cupric ion complexes in seawater

William Rosen, Peter M. Williams
Geochemical Journal, Vol. 12, No. 1, P. 21-27, 1978

ABSTRACT

Copper chelation in seawater by a variety of organic ligands is shown to be dependent upon the stability of the model complex and the pH of the medium. Amino acids, citric acid and citric acid-like compounds are potentially the most important contributors to the speciation of copper in the soluble organic realm of seawater.
