ABSTRACT

Concentrations of rare earth elements in eight U. S. Geological Survey standard rocks, G-1, W-1, G-2, GSP-1, AGV-1, BCR-1, PCC-1 and DTS-1 are reported. The rare earth elements were determined by neutron activation analysis with a lithium-drifted germanium detector after chemical group-separation. Rare earth abundance data in PCC-1 and DTS-1 are the first available ones on these rocks.
